I am C.E. Harrison, from Georgia. I am …an artist, wife, mother, animal lover. I live on a farm and raise chickens, turkeys and geese. I have 2 studios, one attached to my home, and one under the big shade trees, with my chickens keeping me company and offering critiques. My paintings have been collected all over the United States. While a lot of my art leans towards the Southern Folk Art Style, I never let anything rule me - in short…. I’m “complicated”. |

About
This Piece: |
The boys think this fish is too pretty - but fishin’ isn’t just for the men!
She was painted on yet another piece of the old dismantled water cooler from Atlanta. Don’t really know what kind of wood it is, but it was made to last! I painted it in acrylics, finished it with sealer, and attached a wire for hanging.
It was painted in my studio - in other words, outside under the shade tree, in the company of my banties and goslings, Lucy and Zander.

About
This Piece: |
“Spring and Summer the crows gather in the trees around my garden. I painted this little crow after spending nearly a whole day constructing various scarecrows to try to scare away the little thieves. Proud of my handi-work, I left for a while, only to come back later to find one solitary creature perched on the largest scarecrow and a row of my newly planted corn completely gone!”
- “MamaHen” - aka C.E. Harrison
This crow was painted on slate. It has been sealed and signed with CEH on the front and C.E.Harrison on the back. |

“MamaHen Feeding the Chickens“
Acrylic on on Tile
Uniquely Framed on a recycled metal rack
tile is 6″ x 6″
dimensions on frame approx 7″ x 10″
A self-portrait of sorts, this folk art painting portrays me feeding the chickens scratch in the mornings.
The painting is on a clay tile, rescued from the landfill even though it was new. It is painted in acrylic, and sealed with a glossy interior/exterior varnish for protection. I framed it on a recycled white plastic coated metal rack, making it instantly hangable.

About
This Piece: |
My third fishin’ trip - I caught this brightly colored fish. Junior says it’s a barracuda - sounds too exotic for me!
This fish was painted on yet another piece of the old dismantled water cooler from Atlanta. Don’t really know what kind of wood it is, but it was made to last! I painted it in acrylics, finished it with sealer, and attached a wire for hanging.
It was painted in my studio - in other words, outside under the shade tree, in the company of my banties and goslings, Lucy and Zander.
